Shaanan Streett is an Israeli artist.

As a musician, script-writer and social activist he’s been flirting with words for more than 3 decades, using them to make the world a better place.

Shaanan is 1/6 of “HaDag Nahash” band, one of Israel’ most successful and influential HipHop/Funk bands. He is the lead singer and takes a major role in writing the lyrics.

In addition to all that, he also released 2 solo albums, “A flash of passing light” and “All for the better”, for which won him the Acum’ prize for creators.

In-between, Shaanan wrote songs for leading TV series , hosted & directed many cultural programs and documentaries and also wrote the script for the film “Wonders” along with Avi Nesher.

As a part of his social activities, Shaanan founded the “Shekel Festival” association, which has been working since 2001 to make culture accessible for marginalized communities. The Shekel Festival serves to strengthen them, by curating cultural activities, performances and festivals with a symbolic entrance fee of one shekel.

The popular “Sticker Song 2019”, which brought together artists from all corners of Israeli society, is another example of this ongoing social activity.

Shaanan was born, raised and still- lives in the city he loves the most  – Jerusalem. Over the years he has been a prominent figure in the city’s nightlife running a number of pubs, including “Casino de Paris” in the Mahane Yehuda market.

He continues to represent the cultural and colorful diversity of the city, striving to connect its various parts together into social harmony.
