My broken Arabic

Peace be upon you my friends and peace be upon you
From Nazareth to Rawabi with you complacent
This time in Arabic and why? That’s the question
Because I want to reach out to you as if there is no occupation
As if there are no governments between us and calm people are present
On this land called Israel or Palestine
But enough politics I’m not a journalist bro
I’m something else my brother just writes songs

And if there is no one on stage – I come to you immediately
And if you lack an atmosphere of joy – I come to you immediately
And if people in the club (call me) for me it’s normal
Feels (me) good feels as relaxed as hummus feels with Paul

Lived here all my life
And is divided in my words
With anyone who wants to hear how much
My Arabic is broken

I’ve never cried, maybe I do not know how
Maybe if I start I will not stop because I am weak
A little scary to learn something new
(So) I think it’s better that way and more helpful
Obviously there is sadness and a lot and we do not know what will happen
Obviously our time is short and we are as fragile as birds
I fly from these thoughts to a boundless place
A place without soldiers, a place with an imagination …
Hope is still alive and still breathing
Hope Not Dead is also imprisoned

And I’ve lived here all my life
And is divided in my words
With anyone who wants to hear how much
My Arabic is broken

Everywhere I went
A little close a little weird
Every village and every city
A little close a little weird
With notebook and pen
A little close a little weird
In every corner of this world
Close a little weird a little …

Lived here all my life
And is divided in my words
With anyone who wants to hear how much
My Arabic is broken
